Open questions for the group

  • Anything else that must be on the card (lead PI? institution? est. year)?
  • Keep Cores and Working Groups as filters, or too granular?
  • Right list of research areas?
  • How to frame Populations?
  • Locations: countries only, or regions too?
  • Should we show which WGs a CFAR leads vs. joins?
  • Scientific working groups are now a filter — does this vocabulary look right, and is it distinct enough from Research area?
  • NIH funding institutes: context only (as below), or a per-CFAR filter for primary emphasis?

About this directory

A shared, searchable map of the NIH Centers for AIDS Research — built so investigators, trainees, community partners, and program staff can find every CFAR, see what each is uniquely working on, and connect across centers. Each listing links to the center's own site and newsletter, and the header links to the official inter-CFAR collaborations.

The CFAR program is scientifically managed by the NIH Office of AIDS Research (OAR) and the Fogarty International Center (FIC), with co-funding from eleven NIH institutes: NIAID, NCI, NICHD, NHLBI, NIDA, NIMH, NIA, NIDDK, NIMHD, NIDCR, and NINR.
